h-prune Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects h-prune protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-h-prune antibody (F-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. h-prune protein, also known as DRES17 (Drosophila-related expressed sequence 17), is a 453 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes by localizing to the cytoplasm, nucleus, and cell junctions. h-prune belongs to the prune subfamily of phosphatase class C proteins and is expressed ubiquitously throughout various tissues. Functionally, h-prune acts as a phosphodiesterase, utilizing manganese as a cofactor to catalyze the conversion of diphosphates into two free phosphates, which is vital for regulating cellular signaling pathways that influence cell proliferation and motility. h-prune is overexpressed in aggressive sarcoma subtypes, such as leiomyosarcomas and malignant fibrous histiocytomas, indicating potential involvement in tumor development and metastasis. Multiple isoforms of h-prune exist due to alternative splicing events, highlighting the complexity of regulation and function in different cellular contexts.
