H+/K+ ATPase β Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects H+/K+ ATPase beta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-H+/K+ ATPase beta antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. H+/K+ ATPase beta protein, also known as ATP4B or ATP6B, is a crucial component of the gastric H+/K+ ATPase heterodimer, which consists of an α and a β subunit that work together to transport protons across plasma membranes. This single-pass type II membrane protein, composed of 291 amino acids, plays a vital role in gastric acid secretion by catalyzing ATP hydrolysis while facilitating hydrogen and potassium ion exchange. Proper functioning of H+/K+ ATPase beta is essential for maintaining stomach acidity, which is necessary for digestion and digestive enzyme activation. Additionally, the gene encoding H+/K+ ATPase beta is located on human chromosome 13, a region containing over 400 genes, including those associated with critical health conditions. Understanding H+/K+ ATPase beta interactions and functions can provide insights into various gastrointestinal disorders and potential therapeutic targets.
