SEE ALSO...

GSTT2 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GSTT2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GSTT2 (D-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GSTT2 protein, also known as glutathione S-transferase theta-2, plays a crucial role in detoxifying harmful compounds by conjugating reduced glutathione to hydrophobic electrophiles, thereby facilitating their excretion from the cell. This enzymatic activity is vital for cellular protection against oxidative stress and the accumulation of toxic metabolites, which can lead to cellular damage and disease. GSTT2 is a 244 amino acid enzyme that exists as a homodimer in the cytoplasm and is expressed at low levels in the liver and lung, highlighting its importance in organ-specific detoxification processes. As a member of the GST superfamily, GSTT2 contains both GST C-terminal and N-terminal domains, and its gene is located on human chromosome 22, underscoring its evolutionary significance and potential as a therapeutic target in conditions associated with oxidative stress.
