SEE ALSO...

GST Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects glutathione-S-transferase (GST) from Schistosoma japonicum by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GST antibody (A-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. GST plays a crucial role in detoxifying harmful compounds by catalyzing the conjugation of glutathione to various substrates, which is essential for cellular protection against oxidative stress and xenobiotic damage. This function is particularly important in drug metabolism and the development of resistance to chemotherapy in cancer cells, making GST a significant target for therapeutic interventions. Anti-GST antibody (A-6) enables researchers to monitor GST expression, gaining insights into cellular responses to stress and mechanisms underlying drug resistance, advancing understanding of both basic biology and potential clinical applications.

What secondary is best to use with GST (A-6): sc-374171 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. While most anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies are appropriate for use with GST (A-6): sc-374171, we recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

At what molecular weight should the band be seen in Western Blot with GST (A-6): sc-374171 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The molecular weight expected varies depending on the fusion protein you are trying to detect. It should equal to the protein of interest plus the weight of the GST tag.
