Grim19 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a light chain antibody that detects GRIM19 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GRIM19, also known as gene associated with retinoic-interferon-induced mortality 19 protein or cell death-regulatory protein GRIM-19, plays a crucial role in cellular processes by functioning as a tumor suppressor. GRIM19 is integral to the assembly and electron transfer activity of mitochondrial complex I, where GRIM19 facilitates the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain, thereby supporting cellular respiration and energy production. GRIM19 is involved in the interferon-beta and retinoic acid-induced pathway of apoptosis, highlighting GRIM19′s importance in regulating cell death and maintaining cellular homeostasis. GRIM19′s localization primarily to the mitochondrion, with potential to translocate to the nucleus upon treatment with interferon or retinoic acid, underscores GRIM19′s dynamic role in cellular signaling and response to stress. Given GRIM19′s dual function in both mitochondrial activity and apoptosis, GRIM19 may serve as a valuable biological marker and target for therapeutic interventions in cancer treatment. Anti-GRIM19 antibody (C-1) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the mechanisms of tumor suppression and mitochondrial function.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with Grim19 (C-1): sc-271013 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
