Datasheets
  • GPT Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ, cited in 1 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 13-42 at the N-terminus of GPT of human origin
  • recommended for detection of GPT of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG1 BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for GPT Antibody (G-9) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with GPT Antibody (G-9) (see ordering information below).

GPT Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GPT antibody (G-9) recognizes GPT, which plays a crucial role in amino acid metabolism by catalyzing the reversible transamination between alanine and 2-oxoglutarate to produce pyruvate and glutamate. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining the balance of amino acids and energy production in the body, particularly in the liver, where GPT is predominantly expressed. GPT (G-9) antibody can detect protein localization in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes, where efficient processing of amino acids and glucose links carbohydrate and nitrogen metabolism. Elevated levels of GPT in the bloodstream are often indicative of liver damage, making GPT an important biomarker for assessing liver health. GPT monoclonal antibody (G-9) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying metabolic disorders, liver function, and biochemical pathways involving amino acids.
