GPR17 Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GPR17 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GPR17 Antibody (A-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. G protein-coupled receptor 17, also known as uracil nucleotide/cysteinyl leukotriene receptor or P2Y-like receptor (P2YL), is a 367 amino acid member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. This receptor is predominantly expressed in the brain, where GPR17 plays a critical role in responding to extracellular signals, particularly during brain injury. Upon injury, the levels of nucleotides and cysteinyl leukotrienes increase significantly, leading to GPR17 upregulation in certain neurons within the affected area. This upregulation is crucial as GPR17 mediates neuronal death, facilitates the remodeling of brain circuitries by microglia, and initiates the remyelination process in damaged neurons. Notably, GPR17 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in two named isoforms, which may have distinct functional roles in cellular signaling and response to injury.
