SEE ALSO...

GPR14 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GPR14 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GPR14 antibody (D-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GPR14, also known as G-protein-coupled receptor or sensory epithelium neuropeptide-like receptor, was initially identified as an ′orphan′ receptor, meaning GPR14 binds to an unidentified natural ligand. Subsequent research revealed that urotensin II, a cyclic neuropeptide, binds to GPR14 with high affinity, leading to an increase in intracellular calcium levels in cells expressing GPR14. GPR14 localization in heart tissues is particularly significant, as GPR14 suggests a role in vascular smooth muscle contraction in response to urotensin II binding, which is crucial for regulating blood pressure and cardiovascular function. Additionally, GPR14 expression occurs in the pancreas and, to a lesser extent, in brain tissues, indicating GPR14′s potential involvement in various physiological processes across different organ systems.
