GPAA1 Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GPAA1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GPAA1 (F-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor attachment 1 protein (GPAA1), also known as GPI anchor attachment protein 1 or GAA1 protein homolog, is a vital membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum, playing a critical role in glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor biosynthesis. GPAA1 catalyzes the attachment of GPI to proteins containing a C-terminal GPI attachment signal, which is essential for proper localization and function of many cell surface proteins. GPAA1 features an N-terminal signal sequence, a phosphorylation site for cAMP- and cGMP-dependent protein kinases, two potential N-glycosylation sites, a leucine zipper pattern, and eight predicted transmembrane domains. GPAA1 shows ubiquitous expression, with significantly higher levels in fetal tissues compared to adult tissues, highlighting a crucial role during development.
