SEE ALSO...

GPA2 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GPA2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GPA2 Antibody (G-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The glycoprotein hormone alpha-2 subunit (GPA2) is a crucial component of the dimeric glycoprotein hormone family, specifically known for forming a heterodimer with glycoprotein hormone beta-5 subunit (GPB5), also referred to as thyrostimulin hormone. This interaction activates the thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR), leading to increased cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) production, which is essential for stimulating the thymus and regulating various physiological processes. GPA2 is characterized by N-linked glycosylation and contains ten cysteine residues likely involved in forming a cysteine knot, a structural feature contributing to stability and function. GPA2′s ubiquitous expression, along with co-localization with GPB5 in key tissues such as the eye, testis, and anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, underscores importance in endocrine signaling and developmental processes.
