GP73 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GP73 protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GP73 antibody (E-7) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GP73, also known as Golgi phosphoprotein 2, GOLPH 2, or Golgi membrane protein, is a type II transmembrane protein predominantly located in the Golgi apparatus, where GP73 plays a crucial role in post-translational modification of proteins synthesized in the rough endoplasmic reticulum. This function ensures proteins are properly folded and modified before transport to their final destinations, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and function. The human GP73 gene is mapped within a bacterial artificial chromosome and localized to chromosome 9q21.33, and GP73 levels increase significantly in individuals diagnosed with acute and chronic liver diseases, making GP73 a potential biomarker for liver dysfunction.
