GP-39 Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects human cartilage glycoprotein 39 (GP-39) by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GP-39, also known as YKL-40, is a glycoprotein secreted primarily by articular chondrocytes, synoviocytes, and macrophages, playing a crucial role in inflammatory response and tissue remodeling. Elevated levels of GP-39 in serum and synovial fluid are associated with inflammatory diseases, particularly rheumatoid arthritis, where GP-39 levels correlate with the extent of joint destruction. GP-39 is predominantly expressed in articular chondrocytes and synovial cells, with additional expression in the liver, while remaining undetectable in muscle tissues, lung, pancreas, mononuclear cells, and fibroblasts. Notably, GP-39 is recognized as a candidate autoantigen in rheumatoid arthritis, highlighting GP-39′s significance in immune response and cellular adaptation to environmental changes. GP-39 (A-10) antibody serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating GP-39′s role in various pathological conditions, providing insights into GP-39′s function and potential as a biomarker for disease progression.
