GlyRS Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects GlyRS in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GlyRS, or Glycyl-tRNA synthetase, is a crucial enzyme composed of 739 amino acids that plays a vital role in protein synthesis by catalyzing the attachment of glycine to its corresponding tRNA, thereby ensuring accurate translation of genetic information into functional proteins. GlyRS is predominantly expressed in the brain and spinal cord, highlighting GlyRS importance in neural function and development. Notably, defects in GlyRS are linked to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2D (CMT2D), an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by significant muscle weakness and atrophy, particularly affecting the upper extremities. Additionally, mutations in GlyRS can lead to distal hereditary muscular neuropathy type V (HMN5), which presents with similar symptoms but typically with less severe sensory involvement. Anti-GlyRS antibody (F-5) is an essential tool for researchers studying these conditions, enabling investigation of GlyRS expression and function in various biological contexts.
