SEE ALSO...

glypican-5 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects glypican-5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-glypican-5 antibody (F-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glypican-5, also known as GPC5, is a 572 amino acid protein primarily expressed in adult brain tissue, particularly localized to neurons, but is also detected in fetal brain, lung, and liver. GPC5 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by modulating morphogen and growth factor activity, which are essential for regulating cellular division, growth, and differentiation. GPC5′s importance extends to neuronal growth and repair, highlighting potential impact on neurodevelopmental processes and neurodegenerative diseases. GPC5 is a member of the glypican-related integral membrane proteoglycan family, characterized by attachment to the cytoplasmic membrane via glycosyl phosphatidylinositol. GPC5 upregulation has been observed in active multiple sclerosis plaques, suggesting potential role in pathogenesis, as well as showing strong correlation with various lymphomas and other tumors, making GPC5 a significant target for research in cancer biology and neuroimmunology.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This antibody works well for detecting GPC5This antibody works well for detecting GPC5 by western blot in 293T transfected cells. We have tried several antibodies from other sources and most of them picked up some non-specific bands (293T cells un-transfected and transfected with GPC5 and other GPC family members). Don't know if it is sensitive enough to pick up endogenous GPC5.
That being said, I think it is outrageous to present as reviews internal comments from the SCBT QC team. That is not a review, it should be part of what you do before releasing an antibody. A quick look at your website shows a lot of antibodies with 5 stars based on one "review" from the SCBT QC team. That is misleading and deceptive,
Enough said.
