SEE ALSO...

Glut1 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 218-260 of human Glut1, also known as Glucose Transporter Type 1, SLC2A1, or HepG2 Glucose Transporter. Glut1 monoclonal antibody (A-4) is validated for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Glut1 is a 12-pass transmembrane protein that facilitates the basal transport of glucose across plasma membranes, making Glut1 essential for cellular energy production and metabolism. Unlike insulin-regulated transporters like Glut4, Glut1 remains constitutively present at the plasma membrane and ensures glucose availability under varying conditions, including hypoxia. Glut1 is ubiquitously expressed but appears especially abundant in tissues with high glucose demands, such as the brain, red blood cells, and endothelial cells of the blood-brain barrier. Glut1 maintains glucose homeostasis, and Glut1 dysregulation has been associated with various diseases, including cancer and Glut1 Deficiency Syndrome. Understanding Glut1 function remains critical for studying metabolic pathways, energy regulation, and cellular adaptation to stress. Anti-Glut1 antibody (A-4) serves as an effective tool for investigating Glut1′s role in physiological and pathological processes.

Hi, This product detect GLUT-1 in Mouse?

Asked by: Rigoberto
Thank you for your question. We do not currently recommend this antibody, sc-377228: Glut1 (A-4), for use in mouse samples because we have not yet tested it in mouse. The antibody is raised against a recombinant protein sequence that shares significant (95%) identity with the mouse Glut1 protein. Therefore, it is highly likely that the antibody will cross-react with mouse Glut1. For a limited time, we are offering a free 10 µg sample of this antibody. Please contact our Technical Service Department if you would like to request a free sample to test in mouse. Please call us toll-free at (800) 457-3801 option 2, e-mail <scbt@scbt.com>, or use the live chat on our website.
