SEE ALSO...

GluR-δ2 Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects GluR-δ2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GluR-δ2 antibody (D-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GluR-δ2, also known as GRID2, is a crucial component of the ionotropic glutamate receptor family, which mediates the majority of excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system. GluR-δ2 is primarily located at the postsynaptic membrane of neurons, where GluR-δ2 plays a vital role in synaptic transmission and plasticity. Proper localization of GluR-δ2 is essential for the formation and maintenance of synapses, influencing processes such as learning and memory. Mutations in the gene encoding GluR-δ2 can lead to significant neurological disorders, including the Lurcher phenotype in mice, highlighting GluR-δ2′s importance in neural development and function. The human gene for GluR-δ2 is located on chromosome 4q22, and GluR-δ2′s interactions with other glutamate receptor subunits underscore GluR-δ2′s role in excitatory signaling pathways.
