GluR-4 Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GluR-4 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-GluR-4 antibody (F-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GluR-4, also known as GRIA4, is a critical component of the AMPA receptor family, which mediates fast excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system. GluR-4 is primarily located in the postsynaptic membrane of neurons, where GluR-4 plays a vital role in synaptic plasticity, a mechanism essential for learning and memory. Proper functioning of GluR-4 is crucial, as alterations in GluR-4 expression or activity can lead to various neurological disorders, including epilepsy and schizophrenia. GluR-4 interacts with other proteins such as PSD-95, which is involved in the clustering of AMPA receptors at synapses, further emphasizing GluR-4′s importance in maintaining synaptic integrity and function. Using GluR-4 monoclonal antibody (F-9) in research can provide valuable insights into the dynamics of excitatory neurotransmission and its implications in neurobiology.
