GluR-2 Antibody (7G6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GluR-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-GluR-2 antibody (7G6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GluR-2, also known as GRIA2, is a critical component of the AMPA receptor complex, which mediates fast excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system. GluR-2 is primarily located in the postsynaptic membrane of neurons, where GluR-2 plays a vital role in synaptic plasticity, a fundamental mechanism underlying learning and memory. Proper functioning of GluR-2 is essential for maintaining synaptic strength and facilitating communication between neurons.
