SEE ALSO...

GLTP Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GLTP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GLTP (C-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GLTP, or glycolipid transfer protein, consists of 209 amino acids and plays a key role in lipid metabolism by facilitating glycosphingolipid transfer between cellular membranes. This function maintains membrane integrity and fluidity, while ensuring proper distribution of glycolipids essential for cell signaling and recognition processes. GLTP shows high conservation across mammalian species and primarily localizes in the cytoplasm as a monomer. GLTP genes reside on human chromosome 12q24.11 and mouse chromosome 5 F, with expression observed in various cell types, including fibroblasts and several cancer cell lines, suggesting roles in both normal physiology and disease states.
