GlnRS Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GlnRS protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GlnRS Antibody (C-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glutaminyl-tRNA synthetase (GlnRS), also known as QARS, is a crucial enzyme composed of 775 amino acids that belongs to the class-I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family. GlnRS is primarily located in the cytoplasm and plays a vital role in protein synthesis by catalyzing the attachment of L-glutamine to its corresponding tRNA, forming Gln-tRNA(Gln) in an ATP-dependent manner. GlnRS functions extend beyond amino acid activation as part of a multi-protein complex that includes nine different aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases, each specific for a distinct amino acid, ensuring protein translation fidelity. In eukaryotic cells, GlnRS is essential for synthesizing Gln-tRNA(Gln), while in prokaryotes and organelles like mitochondria and chloroplasts, the process involves a more complex two-step mechanism including misacylation and amidation reactions. GlnRS′s ability to accurately charge tRNA with glutamine is critical for maintaining cellular function and responding to metabolic demands, making GlnRS a significant target for research in various biological and disease contexts.
