GHR Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GHR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GHR (B-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GHR, or growth hormone receptor, plays a crucial role in mediating the effects of growth hormone, which is essential for regulating body growth and various metabolic processes. Located as an integral membrane protein, GHR is part of the cytokine receptor family, characterized by the presence of soluble forms of the protein. The soluble form of GHR, known as growth hormone-binding protein (GHBP), is produced through proteolytic cleavage of the extracellular domain of GHR. Reduced levels of GHBP are linked to growth hormone insensitivity syndrome, a condition that can lead to growth deficiencies. GHR is transcribed from at least two distinct promoters, resulting in two isoforms, GHR 1A and GHR 1B, with both being expressed in the liver, while GHR 1B is additionally found in muscle, uterus, and ovarian tissues.
