GFRα-3 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects GFRα-3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GFRα-3 antibody (C-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GFRα-3 protein plays a crucial role in nervous system development, particularly in neuronal survival and maintenance, as GFRα-3 functions as a receptor for glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and neurturin (NTN), which are essential for neuronal health. GFRα-3 is unique among receptor family members through exclusive expression during developmental stages, indicating a specific role in early neuronal differentiation and survival. GFRα-3′s absence of transmembrane domains, being anchored to cell membrane via glycosyl-phosphoinositol linkage, highlights a distinct mechanism of action compared to other GFRα family receptors.
