SEE ALSO...

Gem Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Gem protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Gem antibody (G-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Gem protein, a member of the Rad/Gem/Kir (RGK) subfamily of Ras-related GTPases, plays a crucial role in regulating cellular morphology and cytoskeletal dynamics. Gem protein is located in the cytoplasm and interacts with microtubules and microfilaments, which is essential for maintaining cell shape and facilitating cellular processes such as neurite extension and flattening in neuroblastoma cells. This cytoplasmic localization allows Gem protein to influence the organization of the cytoskeleton, thereby impacting neuronal differentiation and development. Gem protein′s interaction with beta-subunits is vital for regulating calcium channel expression at the cell surface, highlighting its importance in calcium signaling pathways. Human Gem gene is mapped to chromosome 8q22.1, underscoring its relevance in both normal physiological processes and potential pathological conditions.
