SEE ALSO...

GDF-9 Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GDF-9 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GDF-9 (C-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GDF-9, a member of the growth/differentiation factor family within the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily, plays a crucial role in ovarian folliculogenesis, which is essential for female fertility. GDF-9 is primarily expressed in the ovary, where GDF-9 regulates the growth and differentiation of ovarian follicles, thereby influencing reproductive processes. GDF-9 interacts with other growth factors, such as GDF-8 (also known as myostatin), which is a negative regulator of muscle growth, highlighting the intricate network of signaling pathways that govern developmental and physiological processes. Absence or dysfunction of GDF-9 can lead to reproductive disorders, underscoring GDF-9′s importance in maintaining ovarian function and overall fertility.

What blocking solution should I use with GDF-9 (C-6): sc-514933 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
