GD3 Synthase Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects GD3 Synthase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GD3 Synthase (B-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GD3 Synthase, also known as GD3S, SIAT8, ST8SiaI, or ST8 alpha-N-acetyl-neuraminide alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 1, is a type II membrane protein located in the Golgi apparatus, where GD3 Synthase plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of gangliosides by catalyzing the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to GM3, resulting in the production of GD3 and GT3 gangliosides. These gangliosides are essential for various cellular processes, including cell adhesion and growth, particularly in malignant cells, highlighting their importance in cancer biology. GD3 Synthase is a member of glycosyltransferase family 29 and has been shown to down-regulate matrix metalloproteinase-9 promoter activity in response to tumor necrosis factor-alpha by interacting with NF-kappaB and activation protein-1 sites in the MMP-9 promoter. Additionally, GD3 Synthase has an apoptotic effect on ECV304 cells through the downregulation of Bcl-2 expression via the dephosphorylation of AKT and CREB, further underscoring its significance in cellular signaling pathways.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with GD3 Synthase (B-11): sc-390123 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGλ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
