GCP6 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GCP6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GCP6 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GCP6, also known as γ-Tubulin complex component 6, plays a crucial role in microtubule organization by localizing to the centrosome, where GCP6 is integral to microtubule nucleation. This localization is vital for maintaining proper cell division and overall cellular structure, as microtubules are essential for various cellular processes, including mitosis and intracellular transport. GCP6 is a member of the γ-Tubulin complex, which consists of γ-Tubulin and several associated proteins, including GCP2, GCP3, GCP4, and GCP5. While GCP6 is ubiquitously expressed and comprises 1,819 amino acids, GCP6 is less conserved among eukaryotes compared to other GCP proteins, highlighting unique functional contributions. Additionally, three isoforms of GCP6 arise from alternative splicing, which may allow for functional diversity in microtubule dynamics and organization.
