GCNT3 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GCNT3 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GCNT3 (D-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. As a member of the glycosyltransferase 14 family, GCNT3, also known as Beta-1,3-galactosyl-O-glycosyl-glycoprotein beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase 3 or Core 2/core 4 beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase (C2/4GnT), consists of 438 amino acids and is primarily localized to the Golgi apparatus. GCNT3 plays a crucial role in the synthesis of mucin-type O-glycans, particularly in the regulation of core 2 and core 4 O-glycan branching, which are essential steps in mucin biosynthesis. GCNT3 is involved in the conversion of linear poly-N-acetyllactosaminoglycans into branched structures, facilitating the introduction of the blood group I antigen during embryonic development. Expression of GCNT3 is predominantly found in mucus-secreting tissues, highlighting GCNT3′s importance in maintaining mucosal integrity and function. GCNT3′s ability to mediate these glycosylation processes underscores GCNT3′s significance in various biological functions, including cell signaling and immune response modulation.
