Datasheets
  • GCH-I Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ GCH-I antibody, cited in 9 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 210-238 at the C-terminus of GCH-I of human origin
  • recommended for detection of GCH-I isoform GCH-1 only of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including canine
  • m-IgG3 BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for GCH-I Antibody (C-4) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with GCH-I Antibody (C-4) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

GCH-I Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects GCH-I protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GCH-I antibody (C-4) is available as the non-conjugated form. GTP cyclohydrolase I (GCH-I) plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4), which is essential for the production of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin. BH4 serves as a cofactor for tyrosine hydroxylase and tryptophan hydroxylase, the rate-limiting enzymes in the synthesis of these neurotransmitters. Proper functioning of GCH-I is vital, as deficiencies in BH4 can lead to neurological disorders, including depression, due to impaired neurotransmitter synthesis. Additionally, mutations in the GCH-I gene are linked to serious conditions such as malignant hyperphenylalaninemia and dopa-responsive dystonia, highlighting the importance of GCH-I in maintaining neurological health. GCH-I (C-4) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the biochemical pathways involving this critical enzyme.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271482 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
