    SEE ALSO...

Gastric Lipase Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Gastric Lipase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Gastric Lipase antibody (H-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Gastric Lipase, a 379-amino acid protein, plays a vital role in lipid metabolism by hydrolyzing dietary triglycerides in the gastrointestinal tract, particularly in individuals with pancreatic lipase deficiencies. Gastric Lipase is secreted by the fundic mucosa of the stomach and operates optimally under acidic pH conditions, making Gastric Lipase essential for effective digestion. Gastric Lipase′s structure, characterized by high homology to lysosomal acid lipase, enables specific binding and hydrolysis of triglycerides, facilitating nutrient absorption. The lipase gene family, to which Gastric Lipase belongs, encompasses various enzymes integral to lipid metabolism, including Hepatic Lipase, Endothelial Lipase, and Lipoprotein Lipase. Gastric Lipase′s ability to function effectively in the stomach highlights Gastric Lipase′s importance in digestive health and potential implications in metabolic disorders.

Can Gastric Lipase (H-1): sc-390750 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, Gastric Lipase (H-1): sc-390750 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
