  • raised against amino acids 84-135 mapping within an internal region of GAPT of human origin
  • GAPT Antibody (H-8) is recommended for detection of GAPT of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • Anti-GAPT Antibody (H-8) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG2a BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for GAPT Antibody (H-8) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with GAPT Antibody (H-8) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

GAPT Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GAPT protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GAPT (H-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GAPT protein, also known as growth factor receptor-bound protein 2-binding adapter protein, transmembrane, or C5orf29, is a 157 amino acid single-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in regulating B-cell proliferation. GAPT functions as a negative regulator after B-cell receptor stimulation, which is vital for maintaining B-cell marginal zone integrity and preventing excessive proliferation that could lead to malignancies. GAPT is known to interact with GRB2 protein, and GAPT expression is predominantly observed in peripheral blood lymphocytes and spleen, with lower levels detected in thymus. GAPT gene is conserved across several species, including chimpanzees, dogs, cows, mice, and rats, and is located on human chromosome 5q11.2. This chromosome is associated with various genetic disorders, including Cockayne syndrome and familial adenomatous polyposis, highlighting GAPT importance in both normal physiology and disease contexts.

What blocking solution should I use with GAPT (H-8): sc-398271 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
