γ Tubulin Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects gamma Tubulin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-gamma Tubulin antibody (C-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. gamma Tubulin plays a crucial role in microtubule organization and is essential for the formation of the microtubule cytoskeleton, which is vital for numerous cellular processes, including cell division, intracellular transport, and maintaining cell shape. gamma Tubulin serves as a key component of the gammasome, a complex that acts as a nucleation site for microtubule assembly at the centrosome, thereby facilitating proper organization of microtubules during mitosis. This function ensures accurate chromosome segregation and stability during cell division, which is critical for maintaining genomic integrity. gamma Tubulin interacts with other proteins such as delta and epsilon Tubulin, which are also associated with the centrosome, further highlighting gamma Tubulin′s integral role in the microtubule network and cellular architecture.

Can this mouse monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, our gamma Tubulin sc-17787 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC, AlexaFluor 488 and AlexaFluor 647.

Is there any data showing this antibody is specific to gamma Tubulin?

Thank you for your question. We have immunofluorescence data with methanol fixed HeLa cells treated with siRNA to show knockdown of signal, confirming specificity to gamma Tubulin.
