SEE ALSO...

γ-Actin Antibody (2-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects γ-Actin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. γ-Actin plays a vital role in the structural integrity and motility of cells, as a key component of the cytoskeleton, which provides shape and support while facilitating movement and division. γ-Actin is predominantly found in non-muscle cells, where γ-Actin contributes to various cellular processes, including cell shape maintenance, intracellular transport, and cell signaling. γ-Actin in the cytoplasm is crucial for the formation of lamellipodia and filopodia, which are essential for cell migration and tissue development. γ-Actin interacts with a variety of proteins, including myosin and tropomyosin, which are important for muscle contraction and cellular movement. Dynamic structures formed by γ-Actin allow cells to respond to environmental cues, making anti-γ-Actin antibody (2-2) an invaluable tool for researchers investigating cellular processes and various pathologies.

Can γ-Actin (2-2): sc-65636 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. Yes, γ-Actin (2-2): sc-65636 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
