    SEE ALSO...

galectin-4 Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects galectin-4 in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Galectin-4, also known as Gal-4, L36, or LGALS4, is a member of the galectin family, which consists of soluble β-galactoside-binding lectins that play crucial roles in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, tumor progression, and apoptosis. Galectin-4 is composed of 323 amino acids and features two homologous carbohydrate recognition domains, which are essential for binding activity and functional versatility. Notably, galectin-4 is primarily expressed in epithelial cells of the colon, rectum, and intestine, and expression levels are closely associated with the malignant potential of human hepatocellular carcinoma. Galectin-4 undergoes differential regulation based on factors such as cell-cell contact and serum growth factors, which can influence cellular processes. Anti-galectin-4 antibody (B-9) is particularly valuable in research focused on colorectal cancer, where galectin-4 is often underexpressed, and in studies examining upregulation in cells prone to peritoneal dissemination. With robust performance in various applications, galectin-4 (B-9) antibody serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating the complex roles of galectin-4 in health and disease.

Is there any cross-reactivity on mouse galectin-6? The amino acid sequences of galectin-4 and galectin-6 are very similar, while exhibiting differences in link region of galectin-4 (aa 161-184).

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271533 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
