Galectin-1 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects galectin-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Galectin-1, also known as LGALS1, is a critical protein that plays a significant role in regulating cell proliferation, particularly in maintaining the G0 phase and controlling the transition through the G2 phase of the cell cycle. Anti-galectin-1 antibody (B-2) recognizes a protein consisting of 135 amino acids encoded by a single gene located on human chromosome 22q13.1. Galectin-1 features a single internal EcoRI site and a polyadenylation signal, which are important for stability and expression. Galectin-1 can be found in both intracellular and extracellular environments, highlighting versatile roles in various biological processes. Expression of galectin-1 occurs in several human tissues and cell lines, including placenta, lung, HL-6, HepG2, and CEM cells, underscoring importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
