galectin-1 Antibody (C-8) is a high quality monoclonal galectin-1 antibody (also designated LGALS1 antibody, Galectin-1 antibody, or Gal-1 antibody) suitable for the detection of the galectin-1 protein of mouse, rat and human origin. galectin-1 Antibody (C-8) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-galectin-1 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-galectin-1 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Galectins are a family of soluble b-galactoside-binding animal lectins that modulate cell-to-cell adhesion and cell-to-extracellular matrix (ECM) interactions and play a role in tumor progression, pre-mRNA splicing and apoptosis. Specifically, Galectin-1 is an autocrine regulator of cell-proliferation that plays a role in the maintenance of G0 and in the control of G2 traverse. Galectin-1, also known as LGALS1, is the protein product of a single gene linked to human chromosome 22q13.1. The Galectin-1 protein contains 135 amino acids, a single internal EcoRI site and a polyadenylation signal. Galectin-1 can localize to both intracellular and extracellular space. Galectin-1 is expressed in human placenta, human lung, HL-6, HepG2 and CEM cells.

I am interesting for anti-galectin-1 antibody (raised in mouse, against human galectin-1) as detecting antibody for ELISA for human sera samples. Which one of your antibodies will you recommend for this purpose?
Thanks in advance,

I am thinking about using this antibody for a double stain. Do you have any suggestions for doing this with only mouse monoclonal antibodies?
Asked by: Cweed
We recommend using directly conjugated antibodies. This product, sc-166618, is available conjugated to FITC, AF488, and AF647.
