GABAB R1 Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GABAB R1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GABAB R1 (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GABAB R1 protein is a critical component of the GABAB receptor, which is a metabotropic receptor that plays a vital role in the central nervous system by mediating slow inhibitory neurotransmission. This receptor is a heterodimer composed of GABAB R1 and GABAB R2 subunits, both of which are predominantly expressed in the brain. GABAB receptor′s ability to modulate synaptic transmission is essential for various physiological processes, including muscle tone regulation, pain pathway modulation, and facilitation of long-term potentiation in the hippocampus, which is crucial for learning and memory. Additionally, GABAB R1 undergoes post-translational modifications, such as glycosylation, which are important for proper folding, stability, and function. These modifications can influence receptor trafficking and signaling, thereby impacting GABAergic neurotransmission efficacy. Understanding GABAB R1 dynamics and interactions is essential for developing therapeutic strategies targeting neurological disorders associated with GABA signaling dysregulation.
