SEE ALSO...

G6PD Antibody (G-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects glucose-6-phosphate 1-dehydrogenase (G6PD) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). G6PD is a crucial enzyme in the pentose phosphate pathway, responsible for generating NADPH, which is essential for various biosynthetic reactions and for maintaining cellular redox balance. G6PD is primarily located in the cytoplasm of cells, particularly in lymphoblasts, granulocytes, and sperm, where G6PD plays a vital role in protecting cells from oxidative stress by providing the reducing power necessary for the regeneration of antioxidants. The structural integrity of G6PD, which can exist as a homodimer or homotetramer, is important for enzymatic activity and stability, as any defects in G6PD structure can lead to significant health issues, including chronic non-spherocytic hemolytic anemia (CNSHA). Individuals with G6PD deficiency are particularly vulnerable to oxidative stress and may experience acute hemolytic attacks, especially in regions where malaria is prevalent. Anti-G6PD antibody (G-6) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the implications of G6PD in various biological processes and diseases.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with G6PD (G-6): sc-373887 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
