G6PD Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects G6PD protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). G6PD (G-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glucose-6-phosphate 1-dehydrogenase (G6PD) is a crucial enzyme in the pentose phosphate pathway, responsible for generating NADPH, which is essential for biosynthetic reactions and maintaining cellular redox balance. G6PD (G-12) monoclonal antibody helps study an enzyme that aids in producing pentose sugars necessary for nucleic acid synthesis and plays a significant role in carbohydrate metabolism. G6PD exists primarily as a homodimer or homotetramer and is predominantly found in lymphoblasts, granulocytes, and sperm cells. Defects in G6PD can lead to chronic non-spherocytic hemolytic anemia (CNSHA), particularly in regions where malaria is prevalent, making anti-G6PD antibody (G-12) vital for understanding and managing related health risks. Individuals with G6PD deficiency are at an increased risk of acute hemolytic episodes, underscoring the importance of this enzyme in human health.

Please help me that if i have the mouse anti-human G6PD Antibody (G-12) HRP (373886 HRP) for the secondary antibody of ELISA assay. Which primary antibody should i use for coating? Thank you in advance

Asked by: xtltam
Thank you for your question. The G6PD mouse monoclonal antibody you have, sc-373886 HRP, is a primary antibody already conjugated to HRP, so you do not need to use a secondary antibody. We do not offer paired antibodies for ELISA, but you should be able to use any other G6PD antibody as long as the epitope is different.

I am using G6PD (G-12): sc-373886 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
