FucT-IV Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FucT-IV protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FucT-IV (A-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FucT-IV, also known as FUT4, FCT3A, or ELFT, is a 405 amino acid single-pass type II membrane protein primarily localized to the Golgi stacks within cells. Such localization positions FucT-IV to efficiently catalyze the glycosidic attachment of alpha-fucose to various molecules, such as N-acetyllactosamines, which are essential for the synthesis of complex carbohydrates. These carbohydrates play significant roles in cell adhesion and signaling, particularly in processes like apoptosis and cell-cell interactions. FucT-IV shows high expression during embryogenesis in tissues such as skin, liver, kidney, muscle, and small intestine, highlighting its importance in developmental biology. Additionally, FucT-IV overexpression has been implicated in epithelial cancers, suggesting a potential role in carcinogenesis and making FucT-IV a promising target for therapeutic intervention.
