FTSJ1 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects FTSJ1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FTSJ1 (B-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FTSJ1 protein, also known as putative ribosomal RNA methyltransferase 1, plays a crucial role in the modification and processing of ribosomal RNA, which is essential for proper assembly and function of ribosomes. FTSJ1 protein is primarily located in the nucleolus, where FTSJ1 participates in the maturation of rRNA, a process vital for protein synthesis in all living cells. FTSJ1 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome Xp11.23 and exists as multiple spliced isoforms, highlighting complex regulation and functional diversity. Mutations in FTSJ1 gene are associated with mental retardation X-linked type 44 (MRX44) and nonsyndromic X-linked mental retardation (MRX9), underscoring FTSJ1′s significance in neurodevelopmental processes.
