FOXRED1 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects FOXRED1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FOXRED1 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FOXRED1, also known as FAD-dependent oxidoreductase domain-containing protein 1 or FP634, is a 486 amino acid single-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in mitochondrial function. Specifically, FOXRED1 utilizes flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) as a cofactor and acts as a chaperone protein essential for proper functioning of mitochondrial complex I. This is particularly important because mitochondrial complex I is a key component of the electron transport chain, vital for ATP production and cellular energy metabolism. Mutations in FOXRED1 can lead to mitochondrial complex I deficiency (MT-C1D), resulting in a spectrum of clinical manifestations ranging from severe neonatal diseases to adult-onset neurodegenerative disorders. Common phenotypes associated with MT-C1D include cardiomyopathy, liver disease, Leigh syndrome, Leber hereditary optic neuropathy, and certain forms of Parkinson′s disease. FOXRED1 exists as three alternatively spliced isoforms and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 11q24.2, a region known for its density of gene and disease associations, comprising approximately 135 million base pairs and 1,400 genes.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377264 P appropriate for?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
