Formin 2 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Formin 2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Formin 2 (C-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Formin 2 plays a vital role in cytoskeletal dynamics, particularly in the assembly of actin filaments, which are essential for various cellular processes such as motility, shape maintenance, and division. Formin 2 is predominantly located in the cytoplasm and can translocate to the nucleus, where Formin 2 influences gene expression and cellular signaling pathways. The ability of Formin 2 to interact with the actin cytoskeleton is crucial for its function in limb development, as Formin 2 helps establish the structural framework necessary for proper cellular organization and signaling during embryogenesis. Disruptions in Formin 2 function can lead to significant developmental defects, particularly in limb and kidney formation, highlighting Formin 2′s importance in normal mammalian development. The human Formin 1 and 2 genes are located on chromosomes 15q13.3 and 1q43, respectively, and their study continues to provide insights into the genetic basis of developmental syndromes.
