Flotillin-2 Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Flotillin-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Flotillin-2 antibody (B-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Flotillin-2, also known as epidermal surface antigen, plays a crucial role in forming and maintaining lipid rafts—sphingolipid- and cholesterol-rich membrane microdomains essential for numerous cellular processes such as signal transduction, membrane trafficking, and molecular sorting. These lipid rafts serve as platforms for assembling signaling complexes, facilitating efficient communication within and between cells. Flotillin-2 is ubiquitously expressed across various tissues, and Flotillin-2 interaction with other proteins, such as CAP and Cbl, is vital for directing signaling complex localization to specific lipid raft subdomains in the plasma membrane. This localization is particularly important for rapid activation of signaling pathways, such as MAP kinase cascade, in response to external stimuli like estrogen. Additionally, flotillin expression levels are independently regulated and have been correlated with Alzheimer′s pathology progression, highlighting flotillin significance in both normal cellular function and disease states.
