Flightless I Antibody (116.40) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Flightless I protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Flightless I antibody (116.40) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Flightless I protein plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in the organization of the actin cytoskeleton, which is essential for maintaining cell shape, motility, and division. Flightless I contains an Actin-binding domain that shares homology with the gelsolin family, indicating involvement in actin filament dynamics and cellular rearrangements. Flightless I features an N-terminal leucine-rich repeat domain that facilitates protein-protein interactions, further underscoring importance in cellular signaling pathways. Flightless I is predominantly localized in the nucleus but translocates to the cytoplasm upon serum stimulation, where Flightless I co-localizes with beta-tubulin and actin structures in migrating cells. The human FLI gene, which encodes Flightless I protein, is located within the Smith-Magenis microdeletion region on chromosome 17 at 17p11.2, and mutations in this gene are associated with Smith-Magenis syndrome, a condition characterized by various developmental and behavioral challenges.

Can Flightless I (116.40): sc-21716 monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: jenniferc
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. Flightless I (116.40): sc-21716 is available conjugated to agarose (sc-21716 AC), 500 µg/0.25 ml agarose in 1 ml, for IP; HRP (sc-21716 HRP), 200 µg/ml, for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; phycoerythrin (sc-21716 PE), fluorescein (sc-21716 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-21716 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-21716 AF647), 200 µg/ml, for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
