Fibulin-3 Antibody (mab3-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Fibulin-3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Fibulin-3, also known as EFEMP1, is a secreted protein that plays a crucial role in the structural integrity of the extracellular matrix, particularly in the formation of elastic fibers. Proper Fibulin-3 function is essential for maintaining tissue elasticity and resilience, which is vital for organs that undergo significant mechanical stress, such as the lungs and skin. Mutations in the gene encoding Fibulin-3 are linked to Doyne honeycomb retinal dystrophy, a genetic condition characterized by the accumulation of yellow-white deposits beneath the retinal pigment epithelium, leading to vision impairment. Anti-Fibulin-3 antibody (mab3-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs.
