SEE ALSO...

Fibulin-3 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Fibulin-3 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Fibulin-3 antibody (C-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fibulin-3, also known as EFEMP1, is a secreted glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in the structural integrity of the extracellular matrix, particularly in the eye, where Fibulin-3 is involved in maintaining the health of the retinal pigment epithelium. Fibulin-3 is essential for proper cellular adhesion and signaling, and Fibulin-3 dysfunction is linked to Doyne honeycomb retinal dystrophy, a genetic condition characterized by the accumulation of yellow-white deposits known as drusen beneath the retinal pigment epithelium. Notably, Fibulin-3 is absent at the site of drusen formation in healthy eyes, highlighting Fibulin-3′s importance in retinal health and disease. Anti-Fibulin-3 antibody (C-3)′s ability to detect interactions with other extracellular matrix components underscores Fibulin-3′s significance in tissue organization and repair, making Fibulin-3 monoclonal antibody (C-3) a valuable tool for researchers studying retinal diseases and extracellular matrix dynamics.

Can Fibulin-3 (C-3): sc-365224 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Fibulin-3 (C-3): sc-365224 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
