Fibrillarin Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Fibrillarin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Fibrillarin antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fibrillarin is a crucial nonhistone protein predominantly located in the fibrillar region of the nucleolus, specifically within the dense fibrillar and fibrillar center regions, where Fibrillarin plays a vital role in processing ribosomal RNA (rRNA) transcripts. This localization underscores Fibrillarin′s involvement in ribosome biogenesis, a fundamental process for cellular function and growth. Fibrillarin is expressed in various cell types, including HeLa cells, 3T3 cells, and human peripheral blood lymphocytes, and serves as an early marker for nucleolus formation during telophase, highlighting Fibrillarin′s importance in cell division and nucleolar reassembly. Fibrillarin′s structure features an RNA-binding domain and an RNP consensus sequence, which facilitate interaction with U3 small nucleolar RNA, further emphasizing Fibrillarin′s essential role in rRNA processing and ribosome assembly.
