FGL1 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects FGL1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FGL1 Antibody (A-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FGL1, also known as hepatocyte-derived Fibrinogen-related protein-1 (HFREP-1), LFIRE1, or Hepassocin, is a secreted protein that plays a crucial role in liver function and development. FGL1 is primarily expressed in adult and fetal liver, where FGL1 exists as a homodimer and regulates liver cell growth. FGL1 has been shown to interact with fibrin during clot formation, highlighting FGL1′s importance in hemostasis. FGL1 is upregulated during liver regeneration, indicating FGL1′s potential role as a mitogen in liver development. FGL1 exhibits high sequence homology with Fibrinogen β and Fibrinogen γ, yet FGL1 lacks critical features such as a platelet-binding site and a thrombin-sensitive site, which are essential for typical fibrinogen function. FGL1 is downregulated in hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC), and FGL1 expression levels correlate with tumor differentiation, suggesting FGL1 may possess growth suppressor activity.
