FEZ1 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects FEZ1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FEZ1, also known as leucine zipper putative tumor suppressor or LZTS1, plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth and is characterized by its DNA-binding leucine zipper motif, which is essential for its function as a negative regulator of cell proliferation. FEZ1 is predominantly expressed in normal breast and prostate tissues, but expression is often lost in various tumors, including breast and prostate cancers, highlighting FEZ1′s importance in tumor suppression. Absence of FEZ1 expression in cancer cell lines and primary tumors can be attributed to genetic mutations or epigenetic modifications, such as hypermethylation of the CpG island surrounding the FEZ1 promoter, which disrupts regulatory function. During cell-cycle progression, FEZ1 localizes to microtubule components and undergoes hyperphosphorylation by cAMP-dependent kinase, further emphasizing FEZ1′s role in cellular dynamics and potential consequences of dysregulation in cancer biology.
