FcRn Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FcRn from mouse and rat samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FcRn Antibody (A-6) comes in non-conjugated form and various conjugates including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® options. The neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) enables immunoglobulin G (IgG) transport from maternal milk to newborns, providing passive immunity during early development. FcRn is found mainly in neonatal mouse and rat intestinal epithelium, where FcRn binds IgG selectively and prevents degradation while recycling IgG back to circulation. FcRn′s structure includes a heavy chain and β-2-Microglobulin, with the heavy chain sharing about 35% amino acid identity with major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules, suggesting evolutionary significance and functional similarities. FcRn′s presence in vascular endothelial cell endosomes protects IgG from lysosomal breakdown and maintains IgG′s extended half-life as the most stable plasma protein, making FcRn essential for newborn immune protection.
